Reikiona Editorial Standards

Reikiona is an independent educational resource created to provide clear and responsible answers to common questions about Reiki.

How articles are created

Topics are selected from questions people genuinely ask about Reiki, including beginner concerns, traditional practices, personal experiences, history, safety, religion and scientific evidence.

Each article is researched and edited to distinguish among:

  • Established historical information
  • Traditional Reiki teachings
  • Practitioner interpretations
  • Personal or anecdotal experiences
  • Scientific findings
  • Unsupported or disputed claims

The goal is to give readers a complete, understandable answer while clearly identifying uncertainty and limitations.

Sources

For health and scientific subjects, Reikiona prioritizes government health agencies, peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, recognized medical institutions and original publications.

Traditional Reiki claims are identified as teachings or practitioner beliefs rather than presented as scientifically established facts.

Sources should appear close to the claims they support whenever practical. A reference list may also be included at the end of an article.

Medical and mental-health subjects

Reikiona does not diagnose, treat or cure medical or mental-health conditions. Reiki is discussed only as a complementary practice and not as a replacement for medical treatment, medication, psychotherapy, emergency assistance or advice from a qualified professional.

Articles involving significant health or safety considerations may be reviewed by an appropriately qualified professional. When professional review has occurred, the reviewer’s name, qualifications, review date and profile will be displayed. Reikiona will not claim professional review where none has taken place.

Personal experience

First-person statements describe the named author’s genuine experience. Personal experience is identified as such and is not treated as proof that another person will have the same result.

Digital and AI-assisted tools

Digital and AI-assisted tools may be used to support research organization, outlining, language editing or the identification of questions requiring further investigation. Every published article is reviewed and approved by the named human author, who is responsible for its claims, sources, wording and final publication.

AI-generated statements are not treated as sources. Health, historical and scientific claims must be checked against appropriate external references.

Updates and corrections

Articles display their original publication date and, where applicable, the date of the most recent substantive review.

A “last reviewed” date is changed only when the article’s claims, evidence, safety guidance or other meaningful content has actually been reassessed. Dates are not changed merely to make older content appear new.

If Reikiona publishes an inaccurate or misleading statement, it will be corrected. Material corrections may be noted on the affected page.

Readers can report an error through the Reikiona Contact page .
